Embedded Systems Software Engineer

Responsibilities and Qualifications:
The Embedded Systems Software Engineer is responsible for firmware development in audio systems which will be integrated into our high quality loudspeakers systems, from concept through to production for many of the world’s leading high end brands. We design, develop and manufacture subwoofers, studio monitors, iPod docks, sound bars and other active loudspeaker systems.
He or she should posses the following core competencies:
• Experience with embedded systems and proficiency with C or C++.
• Experience in the design and development of audio/CE related embedded systems with DSP.
• Working knowledge of USB, I2C, SPI, SPDIF and I2S interfaces.
• Experience with programming embedded audio systems using industry standard codec’s like DD & DTS is an asset.
• Knowledge of DSP, digital filters, CODEC’s, and digital class D amplifiers.
• Understanding of audio measurements and experience with measurement equipment (Audio Precision) is an asset.
• Technical management of the development of software systems and CE products.
• Excellent communication with customers and colleges.
• Fluent in English
A successful candidate must be able to take a project from a concept into production working with a hardware engineer. Their duties will include firmware design specification, scheduling/planning, programming, and debugging. The applicant will exhibit good working knowledge of audio/CE electronics, basic audio measurements and embedded system design. Ideally they will also have work experience designing, programming and debugging firmware for digital audio systems. They will be able to interpret customer requirements and specifications and work with our international customer base to deliver high quality products to market.
Required Experience and Skills:
• 4 or more years of firmware development experience on audio related and/or similar CE products incorporating digital amplifiers, DSP, LCD displays, IR remote controls, and embedded systems.
• University degree in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluency in English
• Excellent teamwork in a dynamic project environment
