  Position Summary: Audio System Architects play a key role in supporting the business development team to engage with key customers at concept stages while working with some of the biggest audio companies in the world to develop new audio products. This skilled team player will support our systems and customers across professional and consumer audio markets, develop acoustic proposals, prototyping, product benchmarking, and supporting handover from the concept team to our product execution teams.   What You’ll Do:
  • Travel to customer sites mainly in the US, and to Tymphany design centers and manufacturing sites across the UK, Europe and Asia.
  • Build relationships with customers.
  • Present Tymphany technologies and capabilities to customers.
  • Define and develop Audio System Architecture proposals and present these to customers.
  • Specify prototype systems and present these to customers.
  • Provide system tuning support.
  • Interface with Taipei and China Engineering teams to keep up to date with Tymphany’s audio platforms and technologies that we can offer to customers.
  • Market research to keep abreast of the current state of the audio electronics market.
  What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering subject.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of acoustic system design, testing, tuning and measurement.
  • Minimum of ten years of related audio product experience.
  • Able to quickly understand and represent the company’s mission and vision.
  • Able to handle difficult situations and a fast-paced environment with confidence and composure.
  • Strong understanding of audio system design and transducer design and specification.
  • Excellent at prioritizing workload and independently setting priorities.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Able to work as a strong team player as well as independently as needed.
  • Ability to problem solve quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to travel up to 1/3 of the time.
  • Able to relocate to or near the San Rafael, CA office.
  Key Relationships:
  • Reports to the Director of Audio Systems Architecture.
  • Will have frequent interactions with senior leadership team, and other team members in the US and around the world.
  Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard.
  • Work environment is indoors, time is spent sitting in a desk and in a prototyping and design lab.
